Letter Formation Salt Tray

Gina

A multi-sensory experience that helps them practice writing and letter formation (or numbers, shapes, etc!) in a stress-free way!

Materials:

How To:

  1. Pour a thin layer of salt in the bottom of your tray. You want to fully cover the bottom of the tray, but you do not want it to be thick!

  2. Present your kiddo with an alphabet card. Have them trace the letter with their finger.

  3. Next, have them re-create the letter in the salt tray!

We are doing SO MUCH with this activity! They will be practicing letter formation, strengthening their fine motor skills, and activating their senses as they learn!

It also provides them with an opportunity to practice in a way that reduces anxiety; if you make a mistake, you just shake the tray and it disappears!
